ALTER EGO (X) was born from the natural meeting of Julie Crantelle and Théo Majcher, who quickly recognised each other as true alter egos, both creatively and personally. Their artistic signature blends joy, absurdity, chaos and reflection into the spaces where the world is told and explored. The name ALTER EGO embodies this founding bond, while the X symbolises openness to artists, audiences and partners who have turned a duo into a collective adventure.
Today, ALTER EGO (X) is a space for creation and support where human stories connect and transform.
Théo Majcher defines himself as a creator of stories, networks, and spaces for dialogue on a European scale. His career combines artistic direction of cultural and media projects, facilitation of public debates, and strategic support for independent organizations. Actively involved in European cultural networks and a member of the executive committee of Reset! Network, he works to strengthen cooperation between cultural actors and independent media. Within ALTER EGO (X), he develops international partnerships and supports local authorities, institutions, and cultural organizations in transforming their projects into concrete and sustainable actions. Convinced that culture is a space of living democracy, he is committed to making international cooperation accessible and grounded in real-world realities.
Julie Crantelle works at the intersection of theatre, documentary, and cultural transmission. She develops hybrid formats that combine stage creation, audiovisual work, and participatory processes. Her projects explore questions of identity and social dynamics, connected to international contexts and collective narratives. Through her creations, she uses art as a space for dialogue and shared reflection. With a background in performing arts and cultural project management, she moves between artistic direction, pedagogy, and the development of impact-driven projects. Within ALTER EGO (X), she designs and leads support programs and artistic projects that enable artists and cultural organizations to structure their vision and strengthen their long-term development.
Lucile Étienne joined ALTER EGO (X) to strengthen project coordination and support the organization’s international development. She designs and coordinates cultural cooperation projects, with expertise in organizational administration and cultural mediation. Within ALTER EGO (X), she oversees the coordination of international projects, the organization’s administration, and the development of support and training programs. Trained in European studies and cultural policy, and later in cultural mediation, she works to connect artistic creation, local communities, and social issues through concrete projects. She supports cultural professionals in building sustainable and structured forms of cooperation.
