MASCARADE
_masks, theatre and stories to inhabit our fractures
In Europe, identities are multiple, fluid, and at times wounded.
The mask becomes a tool — to protect, to transform, to dare.
Mascarade explores how the performing arts—through theatre, masks, and audiovisual creation—can foster social inclusion, youth participation, and intercultural dialogue.
A project to rethink what it means to “be together,” through art and shared experience.
What we do concretely:
-
A participatory study on European identities, rooted in personal stories, migratory journeys, and local artistic practices.
-
Workshops with young people in each partner country: experimenting with theatrical forms, playing with masks, discovering themselves in new ways.
-
A shared methodology: video tutorials, a game-book, podcasts — to pass on, inspire, and equip other practitioners.
-
Public events: showcases, performances, and roundtables to share ideas, tools, and voices.
